Mt. San Antonio College Children's Choir

The music department at Mt. San Antonio College started a community education projection, the Children's Choir. I was asked to build a website to help with recruitment. The website is heavy on content and has varied pricing information, so my goal was to create an interactive experience that ensured the end-user read the correct information.
I supported my students interns on development of the branding and printed materials. After those materials were completed, I took stylistic cues from those materials to build an effective website that embodied the personality of the Children's Choir.

Scheduling & Registration

The registration process was not entirely in our control and users had to visit an external platform to sign up. In addition, there were some prerequisites for registration in the groups for older children, so the audition process had to be clear.
The external registration process was handled by the college's system. However, only the link for the entry-level choir would appear on their website, as the second and third choirs had a prerequisite audition prior to registering.
This made it extremely important to make sure information was easy to follow for each choir. To set up appointments for auditions, we setup embedded smartsheet forms to help users schedule their child's audition.

Effective Information Pages

Information was not centralized, so users had different contacts for various pieces of information. This was one of the bigger challenges in the design of this website. Contact information had to be clearly represented throughout the website to make sure user messages went to the correct people.
For instance, the Community Education Registration Office helped users with technical issues using their platform, but questions about registration and auditions had to go to the program coordinators. Specific information about each choir was provided by each choir's director.
